RMR USAT Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series is almost here!

The USA Triathlon Youth Splash and Dash Aquathlon Series is rapidly approaching with the first event in the Rocky Mountain region taking place on 6/23/2012 in Las Vegas, New Mexico

In an effort to drive youth participation, USAT has developed the Youth Splash and Dash Aquathlon Series with thirty (30) events as part of the series. Each region will have three (3) events. The focus should is on participation, not competition. The series will expose youth participants to USA Triathlon and the exciting world of multisport. The events included in the series must be community based and focused on getting youth involved in the multisport lifestyle. The goal is to provide a low cost event that is community driven to expose youths ages 7 to 15 to the world of multisport. Each participant will receive a finishers medal, commemorative series t-shirt, and an experience they will not soon forget! Listed below are events taking place in the Rocky Mountain region:

TriUtah Announces Moab Triathlon Festival Updates

Moab Tri Festival Updates

Race for Free! We are looking for additional support in Moab. If you can provide any of the following, we'll give you a free entry into a another TriUtah race. Please respond to this email with your contact information.

• Road motorcycle + driver for USAT official

• 4x4 vehicle & driver for additional off-road course support

• Medical support (MD, RN, etc)

• Water support (boat, waverunner, etc.)

Registration - You have < 11 hours left (closes midnight, Monday) to register for the XTERRA, Road and Kids' triathlons! The XTERRA Trail Run 5K registration will remain open until Wednesday at midnight.

Wetsuits - still strongly recommended. Water temperature is expected in the low-to-mid 60s.    

Wave starts - we've moved all of the wave starts closer to 7:00AM due to the expected heat. Each distance will have a single wave (male + female). See the schedule on the Moab Tri Festival page.

Shoe zone - we'll have a "shoe zone" at the swim exit for your romp to the transition area following the swim.  Bring an old pair of running shoes to make the short run.  We'll put down all the carpet we can, but you'll want those shoes!  Don't plan on using the same shoes that you'll use for the run course.  5K or 10K on trails in wet shoes is not a fun experience...

Summer is arriving and the 2012 Greeley Triathlon is quickly approaching!

 

The Greeley Triathlon has been asked to host the USA Triathlon Rocky Mountain Region Junior Championship again in 2012.  We will also have a special 13-15 year old age group race.   And, of course, the regular Age Group race for the rest of us!  With the warm spring we expect water temps to be very nice  .....  in the 70-72 degree range.
